Organisation
History
| 1902: | Georges Bia establishes a business selling industrial equipment in Belgium and the Congo. |
| 1930: | He begins distributing Nordberg and Metso equipment in Belgium and the Congo. |
| 1948: | His son Jacques takes over the business after the Second World War. He creates the company BIA, and independent family group made up of BIA Technical Offices in Brussels and Kinshasa, and BIA Mechanical Construction Workshops in Léopoldville. |
| 1968: | BIA grows and moves to more spacious premises. |
| 1993: | Acquisition of Moës Diesel, manufacturer of generators. |
| 1998: | BIA becomes the exclusive distributor of KOMATSU for 6 African countries. |
| 2003: | The KOMATSU contract now covers 11 African countries. |
| 2004: | BIA becomes the exclusive distributor of KOMATSU for the Benelux. Foundation of BIA bv in the Netherlands. |
