Richard-Toll, in northern , is the country’s “sugar storehouse”. Immense stretches of irrigated land extending along the river to the east of the town have been planted with sugar cane that is crushed and processed on the spot by the Senegal Sugar Company, which itself is part of the Lebanese group, Mimran. It produces almost 15,000 tons of refined sugar every year at the site.

BIA Overseas distributes Cummins industrial engines in . The company has a specialised overhaul and refurbishment centre for engines in - , equipped with all the latest servicing and testing technologies, including an engine test bench capable of handling units up to 2000 HP. This business is run under the supervision of an engineer and two Cummins-certified mechanics, who are responsible for the workshop.

Refurbishing the 2000 HP engine was completed in record time (less than 30 days) to meet a particular requirement on the part of the customer.

The engine was then successfully recommissioned.
